Psalm

Psalm 102-104

Reading these Psalms I feel so spoiled.  Are you struggling with the Quarantine?  I am.  I have 3 kids, one has a broken back so I am with her 24/7, a daughter that sleeps till noon, and a son that leaves every plate and cup in his bedroom.  No matter how much I pick up my house by the end of the day it is worse than when it started.  My husband works from home so…well let’s just say there is a reason we have asked each other “Is your life insurance paid up” this week!   As I sit here in my comfy house, with food, no one trying to kill me, running water, and technology I read the first Psalm and tried to picture David.  He DIDN’T ASK to be King.  He had to leave his family, his wife, his home, his best friend is dead, he is living in caves, his enemies are trying to kill him, his own tribe is trying to kill him….he has a lot on his plate.  His quarantine and my quarantine are very different.  And yet David writes:

Psalm 102:

In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth,
    and the heavens are the work of your hands.
 They will perish, but you remain;
    they will all wear out like a garment.
Like clothing you will change them
    and they will be discarded.
 But you remain the same,
    and your years will never end.
 The children of your servants will live in your presence;
    their descendants will be established before you.”

Psalm 103-I hung on every word: In Comments I want you to write the ONE verse that you loved the most.  Maybe it is from a song or is it is familiar, or maybe it was a verse you have never read before but loved.  You don’t have to use your real name if you are shy.  Please!!!

Psalm 104- I don’t know how geologist studies the earth and not see God.  How can the details just happen??  Psalm 104 is the Creation Psalm

  1. vs4-who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion.
    Such a contrast, only God can do that.
    (When you begged, I had to comment:). Thank you for all you do!!)

    1. Ben, I love that one too. To read it in context is amazing. The patience, love, and grace he has shown so far blows me away. This scripture is not just something we put on a t-shirt, we know it is so true. Thank Heavens for me!

  2. For as high as the heavens are above the earth so great is His faithful love toward those who fear Him. As far as the East is from the west so far has He removed our transgressions from us. V 11-12
    And I kept seeing promises for those who “fear” the Lord….healthy, respectful fear is a good thing

  3. Favorite verse is “The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.” (I REALLY need His compassion and am grateful He’s slow to anger…. 😳).

    I connect with “As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him.” I makes me think of my own kids…. how I forgive them when they mess up is a small parallel to how God forgives us.

    Title: Wonder of One
    Six days of miracles
    The start of everything
    No one but He can do
    Which are existing now
    They can last forever
    As long as His grant…

  5. “Praise the Lord, my soul, praise his holy name.” This verse reminds me of the song played at Pastor David Landrith’s Celebration of Life service at Long Hollow Baptist Church a few years ago.

  6. The Lord is compassionate
    and gracious, slow to anger,abounding in love.
    Also the other verse that touched me was he does not treat us as our sins deserve, or repay us according to our iniquities.
    So powerful but yet so loving.

  7. vs 17-But the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, and his righteousness to children’s children…..Love that His love is always there…and will be there for our children IF we live right and fear Him

  8. Hi my name is Karen Snyder…😘😂😛
    I love so much here…it’s hard to pick just one verse! I have to say that I read this line 10 times just soaking it in….The Lord is compassionate
and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.
    I’m grateful and thankful for his compassion, mercy and forgiveness bc I’m sure I disappoint him daily.
    Also, He causes the grass to grow for the cattle and vegetation for the service of man that he may bring forth food from the earth. During this pandemic when it’s been so hard to get certain food and supplies, this says to me to trust God and he will provide what we need. Ok, this is definitely Karen Snyder. 😁

  9. 103:4 you redeem my life from the pit and crown me with love and compassion. This is the theme of God displayed throughout my life over and over. I cannot read these Psalms without weeping. Thank you for all you are doing to guide us through the Word at a time we need it desperately!

  10. Psalm 103
    11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
    so great is his love for those who fear him;
    12 as far as the east is from the west,
    so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
    Love all the above verses as well! And that song was definitely in my head as I was reading those verses! I don’t know how anyone could look at creation and not see it could not happen without God! 😍🌺
